David has been in the technology industry since 1982, striking out on his own forming Lightning Technology Group, Inc. aka Team Lightning in 1992. He led the company through a transition from a products-based company to a managed service provider, which was recognized with accolades from the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, The City of Oldsmar and Pinellas County, with the 2003 Small Business of the Year award. With David’s guidance, Team Lightning has been an early adopter of leading edge solutions and support tools, such as remote monitoring, managed services, and cloud computing.
David is active in his community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Upper Tampa Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce, and was a founding member of the Chamber’s Trustee Group. He’s also been a past member of ITT Technical Institute’s Advisory Committee and formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Oldsmar Little League.
When not being asked “help my computer isn’t working”, David is a long-time season ticket holder of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and an avid Tampa Bay sports fan. When not taking in a game, David’s hobbies include keeping his lawn in pristine shape, playing guitar (but only songs recorded before 1980), and being the resident riverboat gambler in Team Lightning’s Fantasy Sports leagues. He is also the de facto drone pilot trying not to crash it into trees.
